I've got this planted two ways:

1) as part of a salad mix that I make up by mixing the seeds of various leafy salad things and growing in pots, to use as "spring mix", and

2) I've sprinkled it around under a bunch of things in pots as a kind of leafy mulch so there's not bare soil and just to fill some gaps between other things.

Hard to estimate how many I've planted because they're tiny seeds and I just kind of sprinkle them all over the place. 100 seems about right.
