Hello! Hailing from just outside Washington D.C.!

It snowed last week, iced yesterday, and we're in for an epic warm-up tomorrow, which means a thunderstorm. Ah, Zone 7, why do you crack me up so much? I am glad for the snow & ice though. Last winter was very mild, which meant lots of the usual pests weren't killed off like they usually are, so growing season was tons of fun.

At any rate, we're at the end of January and that means I need to start thinking about the sorts of crops I want in my garden this year. And from that, figure out what I can wintersow. Some friends have been collecting milk jugs and similar containers for me so I don't think I'll have a shortage. It's not like last year where I was raiding the neighbors' recycling bins at 3 in the morning.

First off, I think what I need to do is go through my seed bin and see what I have, and from there what I can grow. It's a little tricky this year since I'll be going to the Philippines from late April to late May but we'll make do. Since I'll be gone for that time period, I'll probably focus on the seeds I DO have, rather than thinking about acquiring more.
