PermalinkI sowed 6 more containers today. So exciting!
Even more exciting, though, is that I peeked into the containers I sowed at the beginning of the month and saw a couple sprouts starting to poke out of the soil. Amazing, huh? It's still so cold outside. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow. These little mini-greenhouses never fail to make me smile.

Ooh, what greens have you planted? And are they the mini-greenhouses from Ikea? I got two of them last week, still need to set them up.
Oh no! I wintersow, which means I make the mini-greenhouses out of recyclables. Milk jugs, soda bottles, those plastic clamshells salad greens come in. Those sorts of things. I like the milk jugs & 2L soda bottles best though. I just punch drain holes in the bottom, cut them in half (the jugs & bottles anyway), fill them up with soil, wet the soil until water runs out the bottom, sow the seeds, and then close them up with duct tape. I take the caps off if it's a jug or bottle and then put them outside.
As for what greens, lemme checkā¦ Broccoli rabe, radicchio, mizuna, some lettuce & arugula for this set. I think I sowed some oregano and sage the day after. I just realized I never noted that here on the site.
